Looks vs Personality

“If it’s true that looks and personality do not come together, gosh I must say you are so damn gorgeous!”

Why Is There A Woman Behind Every Successful Man?

Because without one, men would have gone ahead and done all the things they thought it was right to do. They would make all the wrong turnings without checking the map. They would spend all the money on something they thought it was right to spend on. They would even start to kill each other; and when men start to kill each other, there will not be many men left at the end of the day, much less for successful men. So that is why, there is, or rather, there has to be a woman behind every successful man.

Now I wonder why men is called “men” and women is called “women”, when I thought it should be the other way round. Men are simply incomplete without women.

Pray

When we wanted something really badly, we would start to pray for it and hope that it will be given to us. Sometimes, if not more than often, we did not get what we prayed for, we started to blame God for not hearing our prayers. I used to do that a lot.

If you remember Jim Carrey in Bruce Almighty — I was like him. When things did not turn out right, I blamed God. When luck wasn’t on my side, I blamed God. When I didn’t get what I wanted, I blamed God. When I had nothing to blame, I blamed God. When I felt like blaming something, again, I blamed God. Read rest of story…

Food

When you are running out of food, you don’t try to eat less, you go out and look for more food.

Question

I rather ask question though it makes me looked like stupid for a while, instead of not asking and not knowing the answer which will make me a fool for life.

Bargain

When you are buying a service, if possible, don’t bargain. Because ultimately, it is easier for the service provider to short change you. When you thought you have saved some, you might end up losing more.

Letting Go

The great man is not he who can carry the most, but he who can let go the most.

Fall

It hurts to see your child falls. It hurts even more to see him not able to rise again.

Parents, if you love your child, let him fall; but be there after the fall to teach him how to rise again.

Food For Thought (Literally)

I was craving for a cone of Cornetto, so I walked into the convenient store of the petrol kiosk nearby, grabbed a cone and proceeded to pay. The cashier auntie asked if I wanted to get 3 for $4.80. I said no and paid $2.25 for just that one.

You probably think 3 for $4.80 makes a better deal, but if I couldn’t finish all 3 and I couldn’t keep them in the fridge as the ice compartment was kind of not working, I would end up wasted $2.55 ($4.80-$2.25). So is paying $4.80 to waste $2.55 a good deal?

Many of time, when I told my prospects about my web design fees, many of them would say expensive and tried to compare my estimate to someone who would do the job for less than 30% of what I have quoted. I’d always told them the same thing: for the sake of saving 70% and they chose the guy who produced the website which didn’t serve any purpose as the result (bad design, bad usability, bad coding, bad search engine ranking), they have effectively wasted not just the 30% which they have paid, they have also missed the many % of possible returns should they have chosen the guy who could do a more decent job.

Next time when you think you are looking at a good deal, try look further and see if the good deal will end up costing you a greater deal.

Packaging vs Contents

Good packaging attracts first-time customers. Good contents keep them coming back for more.

About

This is Dean Loh's personal blog.
Dean started blogging since 1999. In the beginning he wrote a lot of personal stuffs, so personal till he decided to shut down the blog as he didn't think it was a good idea for his girlfriend to read about his ex-girlfriends.
Then, shortly after he got bored, so he started to blog again, and he wrote a lot of work stuffs, so much about work till he decided to shut it down as he didn't think it was a good idea for his boss to read about his ex-bosses.
Now, Dean is bored again, and since he doesn't have girlfriend (at the moment) and he doesn't work for any boss, he thought, he might as well blog again. And this time, it is going to be just about everything!
