asiaone.com fixed malware issue

I wrote about malware in asiaone.com couple of days ago, thinking people at asiaone.com probably were not aware of the issue, but apparently they were. They dealt with and fixed it, and here’s the official update — Update on AsiaOne malware attack. Kudos to asiaone.com!

#fail – Malware in asiaone.com

Here’s an interesting finding. As I was looking up for a piece of news in Singapore, Google returned the following results, take a look at the 4th one that leads to asiaone.com, notice the text that says: “This site may harm your computer”.

Intrigued, I clicked on the link just to see what might happen. As expected, I got the further warning from Google.

1 Year After Baptism

I was Baptized and received my first Holy Communion on this day, exactly 1 year ago.

Before I was baptized, I had to choose between following through The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) — a 10-month program that helps me get to know the faith better as well as to prepare myself for the Baptism, or another coaching program that I had signed up earlier with a non-religious organization — a 3-day program that promises to “give me access to creating a life that fulfils and honors myself, that helps me re-examine my life and uncover who I am as my full potential, in order to begin my process of becoming a more powerful and enriched individual.”

Therefore I iPad Reason #3

So quickly I have found reason #3 for me to get the iPad — Evernote

I’m bad at remembering things; I’m even worse in remembering where I kept my notes. So keeping digital notes is the answer to my dilemma. By keeping my notes in digital format, I am able to access the information from multiple locations, and I’m able to search, tag, and modify them on the go! I have been using the Mac and iPhone versions of Evernote for several months now and I’m pretty happy with it. The iPad addition will make a happy family!

I iPod, I iPhone, therefore I iPad?

There is no information on when will iPad be launched in Singapore. I sort of read from a source saying it may be as early as mid May, 2010. That simply means — not a long wait.

I have mixed feelings about getting one, mainly because I think it’s merely an oversized iPod. But if it makes a good e-book reader as advertised, that may give me a good reason to look forward to own one. At present I have close to two dozens of web design/development reference books, which I have no time to read. And when I do manage to read them, I hate it that I couldn’t “search” or “bookmark” important/useful information for later use. Where as with the iPad, instead of buying physical books, I can start buying e-books and carry them where ever I go. How fabulous is that?

To give myself more reason, I’m going to start adding them here as and when I come across one. For today, apart from reason #1 – E-book Reader, here’s another one – iMockups

#fail – Pizza Hut Online Ordering System

It’s a wet morning, we were too lazy to go out to get food, and the kids in our house have finished the entire inventory of instant noodles. So we decided to order in from Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut has a nice website at www.pizzahut.com.sg, but I would not say the same for the online ordering system. I don’t understand why they had decided to build it in Flash, the usability is certainly thrown out of window.

The Book of Eli

I’m glad I’d finally watched The Book of Eli. The story is simple but well paced. If you haven’t watched it and you are planning to, remember to pay attention at as much details as you can throughout the show, otherwise when the surprise is revealed in the end, you would wish you had.

It’s a good thing there is Denzel Washington in it, otherwise it might get even more rotten tomatoes than fresh ones. I myself have given it a 3.5/5.

Just watched Green Zone. Love the non-stop actions and honest story telling style, love even more Matt Damon’s performance.

You know what ruins my day?

You know what ruins my day?

What ruins my day, is an idiot who calls through a private number, speaks to me in mandarin, asks if I can make a website to advertise overseas education, and if I could do it for few hundred dollars.

What fucking ruins my day is when I tell him, for few hundred dollars, I could set up a website that he can manage content by himself — and he fucks me back, why did I bother to advertise my service, when all I’m offering is a website that he has to manage himself.

And what really fucking ruins my day — many times over — I did not even advertise my service and he is the son-of-a-bitch who calls me the first place, and fucks me because he cannot afford more than few hundred bucks for a website!!

Now that really fucking ruined my day!!
