When I watched Iron Man in 2008, I told myself that was by far the best superhero show I had ever watched. Today, that thought is no longer valid, I have decided that Iron Man 2 (spoiler alert) is even better!
Almost everything in the movie has surpassed my expectation, the new suit, the new villain, Tony Stark, the sizzling hot Scarlett Johansson, the battle scene, all but the part when it introduces War Machine. I personally think it could have been done in a much better way, e.g. a way that surprises the audience. I was a little disappointed also to see Don Cheadle been put in place of Terrence Howard, not like I favor Howard more, but I thought Don Cheadle looks better chasing bad guys in tailored suit than the Mark II.
Anyway, if you could only watch one movie this month, Iron Man 2 has to be it!
I’m glad I’d finally watched The Book of Eli. The story is simple but well paced. If you haven’t watched it and you are planning to, remember to pay attention at as much details as you can throughout the show, otherwise when the surprise is revealed in the end, you would wish you had.
It’s a good thing there is Denzel Washington in it, otherwise it might get even more rotten tomatoes than fresh ones. I myself have given it a 3.5/5.
Just watched Green Zone. Love the non-stop actions and honest story telling style, love even more Matt Damon’s performance.
Finally managed to catch The Hurt Locker. I’m not a movie critic, I have little idea what makes an academy award winning show, but I definitely agree it is a very captivating show.
The short story-telling style reminded me of Full Metal Jacket. The sniper standoff bit reminded me of Enemy at the Gates, then everything else reminded me of Rules of Engagement and Black Hawk Down.
Whatever show it has reminded me of, I was for sure angry and upset, the same feeling I got every time after watching war movie.
Two things I’ve learnt after watching The Blind Side:
- That nice people do exist.
- Although it was destiny that I couldn’t choose to be born in a famous family, but on the bright side: I can choose to foster a son who might become a famous person in future.
For that matter, I’m telling Monica to start keeping a lookout for homeless kid. Especially one who plays ball…
Thanks to Oscar nominations (best picture and best actress), otherwise I would have missed the good movie.
I just had to blog about this, if you have watched the latest Hulk movie, remember the part when Bruce Banner pretended to be pizza boy in order to sneak into the lab? The security guard he gave pizza to, was the one who played the Hulk in the TV series during the 80’s. More amazingly, I could actually recognize him the moment I saw his face!
